Ron Workman and
Jordon Run has been playing the local scene for a couple of years
now, although they have recently changed their names, it is still
the same band that Ron has been performing with the last two years.
Under the leadership and direction of Ron, the band underwent some
changes and is eager to spread out. Gene, the mando player and Ron,
on the banjo, bring a lot of original material to the band along
with the good ole traditional music. The band is rounded out with
good arrangements and good harmonies. They have experience playing
at local festivals, concerts such as Penny Royal Opera House in
Fairview, Ohio; Dutch Ridge in Parkersburg, WV., and the State Theater
in Pt. Pleasant, WV.
Ron Workman,
on banjo, from Guysville, Ohio, brings thirty years of experience,
original material, vocals and the good old hard driving banjo to
the band. Gene Burgy, on the mandolin, from Newark, WV., also writes
his own compositions and although has only been playing mando for
a few short years has managed to become a good player in his own
style, bringing good vocals to the band. He also builds mandolins
and is a good luthier. John Barnett on bass and vocals is from Parkersburg,
WV. and is a good player with the timing that you need to keep good
drive going. Rusty Parsons plays the guitar and is from Belpre,
Ohio. He is the kind of young man that everyone likes and he listens
and tries his best to do it like you want it. Although, he has only
been with the band a few months, he brings good, solid rhythm and
good vocals. He is trying his hand at writing and rounds out the
band nicely. Jordon Run has just released their first CD "Lost
Friend" in 2003 and are back in the studio to complete yet
another project. "Bakers Ridge" will be released sometime
after the first of the year, 2004. Ron released his CD "Finally
Done It" in 2002 and it contained all original material written
by Ron, too. Jordon Run is a band to keep an eye on!
