The boys from King Wilke won Imerging Artist of
the year and they did a great showcase. Keep a watch on these young
guys, they are going to mature into one great band. Meet the gentlemen
after the set and they were just nice as could be. Got a CD for the
ride home and they are setting down a good foundation to grow into
a great band. Good traditional sound!
Wildfire has the BEST song out there, just love
it.... It's Broke and I Don't Know How to Fix it!
The sound and video synch on the big screens was
really well done, it was a great experience in any seat.

Of course, JD and the New South were there to prove
their place of honor... I was very behaved meeting JD again, no security
problems, I was on my best behavior. I did get to shake his hand again
and I'm hoping SOMETHING rubbed off and I'll be pickin' better soon....
if I keep shaking hands with the man, there just has to be some good
karma from it all, right?
First time I've ever seen Dell McCoury and the
Boys and it won't be the last, these guys can rock the house. They
won best performing group of the year and you can see why, watching
them onstage. Del played all requests from the audience and it was
delightful!
Can't wait for next year in Nashville!
